Our greatest asset was Nairobi Anderson, electrician and contractor. He slowly constructed our milk processing room allowing us to continue operations while he transformed the space into a room. 'Robi' managed all this over the months of August to September. We reorganized the room adding two new sinks, a hand wash and diary sink. The latter was anchored at a workable height to clean the milking machine. The final product is shown below, a sanitary space for milk production in the city.
One of our greatest challenges was to create a clean space for milk processing. Thanks to Frontera Foundation, we had the funds to do so. Extrutech in Wisconsin produces panels that form sanitary rooms for dairy operations. After months of planning and input from many people, the room took shape. Special acknowledgment to to Amber Pike and her knowledge of other goat farm operations.
