It has been a very busy year with animal health, milk production as well as a new phase of mentorship. We pray about all efforts that are initiated with kids in the neighborhood. From that point we enjoy our time with each young person who comes to us.
There are three levels of mentorship: helpers (ages 10-15), workers (12-20), mentorship (16-21). Helpers are kids who come in the mornings and evenings for short times,no longer than one hour. Workers are kids who work at an hourly wage. Mentorship means that GlennArt walks with youth for a season to aid them to obtain diplomas and full time work.
Starting in March of this year, Carolyn asked two young women, 17 and 19, to set up a mentorship agreement with the farm to offer some work hours and help them finish school.
We are also very supportive of Taquan Banner, a recent graduate of Northside Learning Center. Taquan dearly desires to have a job. GlennArt Farm is partnering with Northside Learning Center to offer him some farm work throughout the year as well as connect him to resources to help him obtain what he needs.
