With the spring, we opened the compost pile to use the dirt for the garden. The hens have been requested to help out. They had a lovely time spreading dirt, loosening the soil, and taking a bath at the same time. We hid the garlic and onions from them in the main garden while they happily looked for grubs and worms.
Our egg production has been brisk.
