Several families have blessed us with the use of their land space. We would like to acknowledge the Llapa family, Maria and her son Fausto; Alba Pillacella and her sister Amanda Morocho; and the Mock family, J'aime and Debbie. We received permission to enter spaces behind houses that were for one reason or another were abandoned, and to enter empty lots that afforded us space to graze our animals safely.
We are very grateful for the neighbors who have received the animals with kindness. I dropped the gate keys, which I borrowed from Maria Llapa, on the ground one night as we picked up the goats. The next morning after frantic searches at home, I finally knocked on the nearby door to the lot on Long Street. The neighbor came out with the keys in his hand. "We got your back," he said.
